Finding My Life

Even though I am older I feel like I am new to life. At least new to the life of living with God. God has given me a chance to find Him and my way of living with Him leading. I am doing my exploring and just need a place to talk about every day life and my thoughts.

What do you believe?

I have never even thought of these things before. So today at church it was a bit of an eye opening thing for me. I really never thought of judgement in this way before...

Are you a Christian who believes the Lord is going to judge you when you meet Him? Is He going to show all your wrongs to those around you? Is that what you believe your judgement day is going to be?

What do you believe your judgement day is going to be?

For me I thought when I met my Lord I would be judged on what I had done and what I had not done. I had not thought of it much further than that. I had hoped that if I asked for forgiveness He would grant that to me. Yet I did not put much thought into it.

So here is what was brought up today - if the Lord has already forgiven us our sin why would we need to revisit them? They are forgiven, they are forgotten - He has forgiven us and He has no memory of them.

Revelations 20:11-15 talks about two different events that take place in front of the thrown. It talks about the saved and the unsaved. The unsaved are in the books (plural) and their lives are there exposed for all to see and then they are thrown in the lake of fire. Then there is the book which is the saved. The book of life are still judged but in a completely different way.

If I really believe in the Lord then I can not believe that on my judgement day I am going to have to revisit and unload all of my sins again because I already believe they have been forgiven. It is one way or the other - I either am going to have to unload and revisit everything on my judgement day or they are already forgiven.

Isaiah 38:17
Surely it was for my benefit that I suffered such anguish.
In your love you kept me from the pit of destruction;
you have put all my sins behind your back.

Jeremiah 31:34
No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother,
saying, 'Know the Lord' because they will all know me,
from the least of them to the greatest", declares the Lord.
"For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember
their sins no more."

Micah 7:19
You will again have compassion on us;
you will tread our sins underfoot and hurl all
our iniquities into the depths of the sea.

What do you believe? Do you believe that as a Christian our judgement day will be different than those not saved?

Will it be more of a celebration day or an announcement day? A day to celebrate all we did for Him while in the flesh!
